Managing DBS Checks
Overview
LEO HR helps you record, monitor and manage Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks, ensuring important information is stored securely and review dates are easy to track.
Before you begin
You'll need:
- Owner, Senior or Manager access
- An employee record
Step 1 – Open the employee record
From the dashboard, select Employees and open the relevant employee profile.
Step 2 – Record DBS information
Add the employee's DBS information, including:
- DBS level
- Certificate number (where applicable)
- Issue date
- Expiry or review date (if used by your organisation)
- Update Service status (where applicable)
Step 3 – Save the record
Save the employee record to securely store the DBS information.
Step 4 – Monitor review dates
Regularly review DBS records to ensure checks remain appropriate for the employee's role and your organisation's safeguarding requirements.
Best Practice
Follow your organisation's safeguarding policy and any sector-specific guidance when deciding if and when DBS checks should be renewed.
